In 2015, the book publishing market generated over $113,000,000,000 dollars [1]. That’s billion. $113 billion!
And here’s the thing…
It’s growing!
It’s estimated to break through $120-billion by 2020.
That’s a huge amount of money! In fact, it’s so big, it’s hard to really grasp it. So let’s compare it to something.
If you ask the average person, which makes more money… movies or books, they would probably answer “movies.” But they would be wrong.
The global box office revenue for 2016 was a mere $38-billion [2]. That’s only a third of the book industry.

Most Christians are familiar with the Bible. It’s a place where we can learn about God and His church. Within its pages, we read about the life of Jesus Christ, the early days of His church, and everything that happened in the Old Testament before Christ was born. Most families have at least one Bible in their homes. However, few realize that the Orthodox Bible is actually a little different than those used by other denominations.

*Instanbul or Constantinople are both Greek definitions and toponyms

(Reuters) - Patriarchs of the world's 250 million Orthodox Christians ended a rare summit in Istanbul on Sunday calling for a peaceful end to the crisis in Ukraine and denouncing violence driving Christians out of the Middle East.

Twelve heads of autonomous Orthodox churches, the second-largest family of Christian churches, also agreed to hold a summit of bishops, or ecumenical council, in 2016, which will be the first in over 1,200 years.

The Istanbul talks were called to decide on the council, which the Orthodox have been preparing on and off since the 1960s, but the Ukraine crisis overshadowed their talks at the office of spiritual leader Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
