Most of us have seen movies about "Robin Hood" or read relevant books about the hero of the poor, but few of us know that Robin of Lockley was an Orthodox Christian who actually died because of his faith.
He who brought to light the true story of Robin Hood was the Greek-American Orthodox Priest, Fr. John Romanidis († 2001), a graduate of Yale University and later a professor at the Theological Schools of Harvard, Athens, Thessaloniki and Boston's Holy Cross.
Late Fr. John, revealed that Robin was an Orthodox rebel who, along with his close friend "Little John", fought against the Franco-Norman invaders at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 AD.
